Trust.
We have no trust in Alaska Airlines. I understand that they can't control delays from mechanical or weather. Lost bags happen. The can run out of Vodka. But we lost trust in them with one simple thing they didn't ask permission to give our seats away.
My wife made reservations 8 months ago for our vacation. (Yes, 8 months) When we got to the airport our seats were not together. She does not like flying so I asked the gate agent if we could sit together. She said with a smile, let me see what I can do. As we waited out the 4 hour delay we finally were given our seats. We both had been moved. But not together.
We were in the front of the plane when we handed the boarding passes to the gate agent. When they returned they were not in the front anymore. As I passed the three short older ladies in the exit row I was sure they would be able to help all 6'5 235 lbs of me out of the plane. So that was a nice warm feeling in my state.
Oh yeah, I was suffering from Pneumonia (on antibiotics) and found my seat which was next to two ladies who had started their vacation already by drinking the planes delay away. (not Alaska Airlines fault) but they did move me next to these ladies, one of which began to use her air sickness bag. And then mine. I suddenly wasn't the sickest person in my row. My knees pressed to the seat in front of me and lower back in my chair secured me into my seat. No seat belt necessary and I waited for the inevitable crushing as the person in front of me to bring back their chair to a more comfortable position.
My wife was also moved, she garnered the last seat on the plane. To her left was three bathrooms in a row which was a new design. So she spent the flight with numerous poop filled asses and urine ready to deposit crotches in her face for the entire flight. Plus the lovely smell of that blue bathroom toilet water. The baby to the right of her also seemed to be frightened of crotches so he cried for most of the flight.
So in conclusion we will never fly Alaska Airlines again. They simply lost our trust. Please if you have a choice don't fly Alaska Airlines.

I'm with ya
Who once again, cannot get my girls home to me when promised. My sister used to fly them down here when she came. Almost NEVER were they on time. The last time my girls tried them, they were almost 5 hours late on a 2 1/2 hour flight. NO ONE at the desk or terminal to tell you what was happening, or when they'd be in, or if the plane went down, NOTHING.
My wife booked a flight on them against my advice almost 3 months ago. When she got to the airport almost 3 hours early tonight for the flight out of Seattle, only to find when she arrived that the plane was leaving in 17 minutes. NO other flights for the night, NO other airline with seats available. So they are stuck up there another night, and my little one will miss most of the school day on Monday.
This is the LAST time we use these idiots. We do plan to write letters to them etc, but I don't think much can be done. Even if they offer us a free flight somewhere, I'm not setting foot on another one of their planes ever again.
My little one, though a VERY seasoned traveler, is still shaky for the airport process (most of her flying is post 9/11) so this sure didn't help her at all. Spent some time on the phone to calm her down.
